Have Easter Brunch
Easter morning, April 8, will find Canyon Lakers going in many directions to celebrate the day. These wide-ranging pursuits include Sunrise Services, church, Easter baskets, chocolate bunnies and colored egg hunts. Oh yes, and brunch at one of Canyon Lake’s two fine restaurants.
Easter Brunch has become an American tradition. Easter feasts and celebrations have their origins in Europe, and like so many imports from the ‘old countries,’ have been merged, shaped and fashioned into an American mold. Europeans can explain the connection between rabbits and eggs; American kids don’t worry about it.
In any case, Canyon Lake restaurants are prepared. Lighthouse Master Chef Scott Sebring will offer traditional ham, lamb and roast beef along with the usual long list of Sunday brunch cuisine. At the Country Club, kitchen overseer, Joe Scania, has added ham and lamb to his carving board, and poached salmon to the club menu. He will add a special dessert table to the mix.
The Lighthouse will open to guests at 10 a.m. and close at 2 p.m. Price at the Lighthouse is $17.95.
Brunch at the Country Club begins at 10 a.m. and continues until 3 p.m. Price there is $12.95.
Reservations are recommended. Call the Lighthouse at 244-6841, ext. 771 or 721. To make reservations at the Country Club call 244-6841, ext. 723.
