NZers Spend Less On Christmas
A survey on Christmas spending has revealed New Zealanders are relatively thrifty when it comes to presents for friends and family.
The AXA Retirement Scope 2006 surveyed people from 16 countries, including Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Britain, and asked them what their average Christmas gift budget was.
The survey says New Zealanders spend an average of $839 on Christmas presents, while Americans, the biggest spenders, average $1,700. Britons spend $1,500 and Australians $950.
But New Zealanders do spend more than Germans, who average only $772.
