Take That’s beautiful Christmas?
Take That are on course for a “beautiful Christmas”, according to a music retailer.
HMV predict the band’s comeback album, Beautiful World, will hit the top of the charts in the all-important Christmas week.
As the winner of X Factor is likely to have the Christmas No 1 in the singles chart with their cover of Kelly Clarkson’s A Moment Like This, all eyes have turned to the album chart. After a 10-year absence, Take That will have to battle it out with Oasis, The Beatles, Girls Aloud, U2 and Il Divo for the album top spot.
HMV’s Gennaro Castaldo explained: “It’s almost impossible to predict who will be this year’s Christmas No 1 album with any certainty, any one of three or four titles could land the top spot. Almost inevitably it will depend on which artists gain the most profile from the publicity and promotion that is planned over the next few weeks. For this reason, I’m sticking my neck out to go with Take That, who will surely be given a huge boost by their spectacular An Audience With… TV special and their scheduled appearances on the X Factor Final and the Royal Variety Show.”
The four-piece are currently at No 1 in the singles chart with Patience.
