Bulgarian Bishop Blesses Fontana di Trevi in Rome

Bulgarian bishop Tihon, who is head of the Orthodox church for Western Europe, blessed the waters of the famous Fontana di Trevi in Rome.

January 6 is celebrated each year as Epiphany day when John the Baptist baptized Jesus in the river of Jordan and the Holy Spirit came to Him as a white dove.

On a day when the Orthodox church commemorates St Jordan and the Catholic marks the Epiphany, hundreds of tourists gathered around the fountain to watch the mysterious ritual of the Bulgarian bishop.
