Ingredients >
2 1/4 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
1/3 cup Hershey’s Cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups (12 oz. pkg.) Hershey’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Method >
Heat oven to 375 degrees.

Stir together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt in a bowl. Set aside.

In large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla with electric mixer until creamy. Add eggs; beat well.

Gradually add flour mixture, beating well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if desired.

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.

Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.

Yield: About 5 dozen cookies.
