Ingredients >
1 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup finely chopped nuts

Method >
Mix butter, sugar and vanilla thoroughly.

Stir in flour and salt. Mix in nuts. Chill dough.

Heat oven to 400 degrees.

Roll dough in 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased baking sheet.

Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until set but not brown. (These cookies do not spread.)

While still warm, roll in powdered sugar. Cool. Roll in sugar again.

Yield: Makes about 4 dozen.

*Dipping method > Lightly fluff up the flour in the canister. Dip the measuring cup into the flour so that it’s overfull, then level off with the back of a kitchen knife.
